This set of overwound pickups will absolutely thrive in high-gain environments. They are, however, reminiscent to Seth Lover’s original design for humbuckers, omitting the screw poles for another slug bobbin. Vintage meets modern. With two slug bobbins resting on an Alnico 8 magnet, the bridge pickup’s notes seem to detonate under your fingertips. The neck pickup’s A5 magnet plays perfect counterpoint while its mismatched coils slash clean through the mix. Lean into them as hard as you can and they will just ask for more.
