What is the GIG BAG ?

I wanted to get the word out about a new feature we are adding to our online store called "The Gig Bag". It will be a catch all of sorts where we will be offering one-offs, prototypes, and pickup sets where the parts were either too expensive or too hard to come by therefore ruling them out as being something offered in our normal catalog. Sometimes people reach out via our "Total Custom" sevice where virtually anything is possible with a pickup order that is so cool or weird that we make an extra one to play with around the shop. I have had orders for cigar box builds where the customer wanted a pickup made in a strange size or something that is housed inside a piece of exotic wood or an Altoid or tobacco can. In those cases, I may make an extra one or two and those extras could end up in "the Gig Bag". Sometimes when dealing with some of our clients we have decided on a certain winding pattern and resistance and the clients want those exact same coils built with different magnet strengths (A2, A3 A4, A5, A8) etc. so that they can experiment with the tonal differences and pick the magnet with the gauss that best suits the situation or rig that they are dealing with. In this type of situation say the artist decides that the A3 set is what they need we may have an A2, A4, and A5 set to offer in "the Gig Bag" for a discounted price. In the past, especially when working with higher profile artists we have had "friends of the shop" swoop in and scoop up these extra and rare items. Also, sometimes they end up on the back of a shelf or under a bench and get forgotten about for a while. The Gig Bag will be a great place to offer these items up for grabs. As always if you have any questions feel free to drop us an email through the "total custom" service and we'll get right back to you. Keep your eye on the gig bag and check back frequently to see what's new!
